Blackburn expanded line of Conductive Tapes meets the customer needs for flexibility, higher conductivity, and easier installation. They are available with conductive and non-conductive adhesives and in a wide range of widths. Typical applications include cable Shielding terminations and joining metal panels together at the seams of an enclosure. Foil tapes are a cost-effective shielding solution for a wide range of uses. They can be particularly useful during the development and test phases of projects to be used as “fixes” for EMI problems.
Blackburn Super Foam VHB tape works great on various substrates and offers permanent bonding to metals, woods, and plastics. It will fill gaps on irregular surfaces and is ideal for dampening vibrations, and distributing stress. This foam is flexible and will conform to many surfaces. Typical applications for this product are done indoors.
Blackburn Heavy Duty Vinyl Tape is used in many different industries including industrial, construction, maintenance, repair operations, irrigation, utility, and many others. This product was designed for insulation applications that require greater mechanical strength and abrasion resistance. The rubber adhesive tape is aggressive and conformable.
Blackburn Conductive and Thermally control tapes are used in electrical applications and typically consist of a metal foil, such as copper or aluminum, coated on one or both sides with a conductive adhesive. Conductive tapes are available in different adhesive strengths and may be permanent or removable.
Common applications for conductive tapes include electrical bonding and grounding, interconnecting flexible circuits, cable shielding, and electromagnetic (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding and grounding. Conductive tapes may be single sided, double sided, and may come with a conductive foam backing for additional gap filling and shock absorbing. Commonly made with acrylic adhesive, conductive tapes have excellent conformability (they are easy to shape) and are ideal for printed circuit boards (PCB), LCD screens, and computer keyboards.
